We unexpectedly decided to hike to see a waterfall over the weekend hidden in a Hawaiian rainforest. We all had appropriate shoes and it wasn’t raining at the time, so we went for it. It was a fun day, but I was left with tons of itchy little reminders of my weekend adventure. Yes, I was eaten alive by mosquitoes and bugs! My husband says I’m sweet like that. :) I told him, he’s lucky because I’m his bug spray. When I’m around, it seems like no one else gets a bite, just me and I get a lot!
I have all different sized bug bites, so I don’t know if that means I got bit by different types of bugs or if some were just bigger than others?! I don’t have any sort of bug bite relief products here, so I opened the kitchen cabinets and found Baking Soda. I’ve read online that a natural home remedy to stop crazy itchiness is to mix up a homemade paste of Baking Soda and Water and dot it on the bug bites.
Bug Bite Itch Relief Recipe
3 teaspoons Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Water
Mix into a paste and smear onto itchy bug bites.
Now instead of red itchy polka dots all over my arms and legs, I’m sporting white powdery spots. But they’re not itchy…so I’ll take it!
