Crepes No Ka ‘Oi – An unexpected food find in Oahu, Hawaii

It may seem a little out of its element to stumble across a tiny crepe restaurant in Oahu Hawaii, but don’t let that stop you from experiencing a delightful, delicious meal.

Our family stopped at Crepes No Ka ‘Oi (No Ka ‘Oi translates to “the best”) for a quick bite to eat before a day at Kailua Beach. We sat at one of their outdoor tables and were immediately greeted with a friendly waiter who promptly brought our 2 year old son a highchair outside and a cup of ice water served in a non-breakable cup with lid and straw, very thoughtful! Now that’s great service, we couldn’t ask for more.

We ordered Popeye’s Power (with oven roasted turkey) and Lovers’ Delight (substituting chocolate syrup for the chocolate powder). Both crepes were plated beautifully. I especially loved the fresh orange slice and purple orchid on the savory crepe.
I enjoyed the fresh spinach, sautéed onions and combination of melted jack and cheddar cheese. The meat in the savory crepe is lunchmeat. We thought it would be even better with thin slices of fresh roasted turkey, but overall their savory crepe was delicious.

The dessert crepe sealed the deal and single handedly will have our family returning to Crepes No Ka ‘Oi again and again. There’s just something special about a warm thin crepe filled with an oh-so decadent, chocolaty Nutella enveloping sweet, juicy strawberries and ripe banana…a truly magical combination.

If you’re looking for a departure from traditional Hawaiian fare, Crepes No Ka ‘Oi is definitely a great food find where it is absolutely imperative to save room for dessert!

  1. Um, hello, yummy delicious goodness! Those crepes look amazing. My MIL makes crepes from appetizers to dessert - something I wish I could recreate for my husband and our kids but I'm just not that good in the kitchen! Every now & then, I'll whip up a batch of something with nutella in it and it makes it special enough! :)

Anyhow, I havent seen you over at Sofia's Ideas in awhile so I anted to invite you to come back over and stay for a bit!

  2. Hi Sofia - Thanks for stopping by DigiCrumbs!
Sounds yummy...I agree, a little nutella definitely adds a special touch!

I've never tried making crepes at home before, but would like to give it a try someday. Until then, we'll have to enjoy crepes at restaurants. These crepes were a huge hit with our family. :)
